Kim Morreale founded Morreale Communications in 2006, blending her unique background in journalism and government to develop strategic communications for a wide variety of clients in the public and private sectors.
One of Kim's key strengths is her ability to analyze complex information with a clear, level-headed approach, and to craft targeted messaging that effectively shapes public policy and builds consensus among diverse stakeholder groups. She is well-known as a trusted senior advisor to C-suite executives, government officials, and opinion leaders.
Through her experience as a news reporter and anchor, Kim developed a strong relationship with media throughout Illinois and deeply understands how to leverage media coverage to shape and drive the narrative. As the former Director of External Affairs and the Illinois Department of Transportation spokesperson, Kim is seasoned in working with lawmakers at the federal, state, and local levels and has authored award-winning campaigns for public engagement, grassroots mobilization, coalition building, and strategic communications.
With an innovative mindset, Kim has guided her firm to receive national and international awards for establishing a benchmark in communication excellence. A savvy businesswoman, Kim doubled the size of her firm in 2018 and is now considered a leading midsized firm with 80 percent female employees.
Kim is a distinguished recipient of the German Marshall Fellowship Award, where she was one of 14 emerging leaders selected to represent the United States in building alliances and improving relations between the U.S. and the European Union. In 2021, Morreale was awarded Community Involvement of the Year and Morreale Communications' Gold Stevie Award for Women in Business.
In 2023, following a year of outstanding client satisfaction and communications excellence, Morreale Communications won the coveted Gold and Silver Stevie® Awards in the 19th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. In 2024, Kim was honored with the Top Women in PR Award as a Business Entrepreneur from PR News. Morreale Communications was awarded a Silver Stevie Award for Achievements in Diversity and Inclusion.
