Kim founded Morreale Communications in 2006, blending her unique background in journalism and government to develop strategic communications for a wide variety of clients in the public and private sectors.
One of Kim’s core strengths is her level-headed approach to taking complex information and developing targeted messaging to shape public policy and build consensus among diverse stakeholder groups. She remains a trusted advisor to c-suite executives, government officials and opinion leaders.
Through her experience as a news reporter and anchor, Kim developed a strong relationship with media throughout Illinois and has a deep understanding of how to leverage media coverage to shape and drive the narrative. As the former Director of External Affairs and the spokesperson for the Illinois Department of Transportation, Kim is seasoned in working with lawmakers at the federal, state and local levels and has authored award-winning campaigns for public engagement, grass roots mobilization, coalition building and strategic communications. With a forward-thinking approach, Kim has led her firm to be recognized for national and international awards in setting the standard for excellence in communications. A savvy businesswoman, Kim doubled the size of her firm in 2018 and is now considered a leading midsized firm with 80 percent of its employees being female.
Kim is a distinguished recipient of the German Marshall Fellowship Award where she was one of 14 emerging leaders selected to represent the United States to build alliances and improve relations between the U.S. and European Union. In 2024, Kim was honored with the Top Women In PR Award as a Business Entrepreneur from PR News. She is also a former competitive figure skater who won over 250 awards. As a professional figure skater, Kim proudly trained a team of national skaters. She lives in Chicago with her husband and two children.
