Communications Manager - Healthcare
Morreale Communications has an opportunity for a Communications Manager to join our award-winning team. The Communications Manager will work closely with the project team to develop and execute comprehensive communications plans that include content development, earned media, social media, stakeholder engagement, public involvement, coalition building and advocacy campaigns.
This person should be able to bring new ideas and a fresh perspective into communicating highly technical materials into digestible terms for public consumption. This position works closely with clients to engage target audiences to educate them on project goals and benefits and ultimately build consensus to shape public policy. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and is comfortable speaking in public and facilitating meetings with top-level executives. Communications experience in government, highly regulated industries, transportation or healthcare is preferred.

Job Responsibilities
Develop, implement and manage internal and external communications and public engagement strategy to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders.
Develop and manage marketing and promotional campaigns, including creating, editing and disseminating publications, reports, website, social media, newsletters and print materials.
Develop strategy and content for executive level and technical remarks which require and research, drafts and compiles material for use in internal and external presentations.
Prepare, write, edit press releases, byline articles, media alerts and other forms of external communications.
Initiate, plan, develop and manage execution of thought-leadership communications strategies to support client objectives.
Coordinate social media strategy and content for targeted initiatives and campaigns.
Develop and implement consensus-building and public outreach strategies and techniques, directing outreach to elected officials, community organizations and the general public with the goal of building public support for client projects.
Organize special events including advocacy days, public meetings/hearings, media availabilities and press conferences.
Maintain relationships with media, government and industry officials to promote client in initiatives in communities and the press.
Position Qualifications
3-5 years professional experience in the areas of communications, government, healthcare, regulated industries, transportation and/or journalism
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and the ability to convey complex, technical topics in a clear and concise manner
Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to track multiple tasks and projects
Skilled at working with minimal supervision on high-profile projects
Strong familiarity with government and stakeholders
Experience in media relations, government or statewide communications campaigns is preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy, Communications, Political Science or related field

Initially, this position will be remote, and then depending on timing could either report out of the Chicago office located in Edison Park or downtown Chicago. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel as needed to client offices.
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $60,000-$74,499
