Alejo Torres,
Vice President Strategic Advisory Services
Alejo is a communications and public affairs professional with more than two decades of experience in nonprofits, government, healthcare, education, and the financial sector. At Morreale Communications, he serves as Senior Director and strategist for several clients leading media relations, content development, integrated marketing, and partner building. Prior to joining Morreale Communications, Alejo most recently served in an internal communications and event planning role at Northwestern University helping Weinberg College navigate crisis communications and its transition to digital formats during the pandemic.
Prior to his work in higher education, Alejo spent a year at SevenDesign in California serving as a senior account executive for Visa's award-winning financial literacy program; and 12 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago as Senior Outreach Manager. During that span, Alejo earned national and international recognition for the Chicago Fed and Visa as leading voices and advocates in financial education. While in these roles, he developed highly structured programming, national marketing and promotional campaigns and a diverse network of educators, financial services providers, nonprofits, journalists, and government agencies around the globe.
Alejo has also served in a wide variety of communications and outreach roles with Resurrection Health Care, Lake City Bank and United Way. He is also a member of United Neighborhood Organization’s Metropolitan Leadership Institute (Class of 2006) and served as a Board Director and Chair for Public Narrative between 2007 and 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Grace College.
Alejo is a Chicago native and currently lives in Arlington Heights, IL with his wife and three daughters.
